You are! Yet you who claimed love and care,
Besotted me for who I am!
You who claimed to absorb my woes,
Converted our love into a woe,
because of who I am!
You turned who I am,
Into a drama of scorn and noise
You reduced my sense of life and joy,
because of who I am!
I long'd for scenes where man has never trod
For scenes where women have never wept
because you are!
It was not in you I found sense of affinity,
It was Poetry! Poetry expressed who I am!
Despite who you were to me, I am!
